Now proceed to make your application at the link below. On the application page you may make an initial inquiry or  fill in the application form. Please try to give us as much information as you can. It is important that we know the research areas in the biomedical sciences that interest you. After you have looked at the pages describing faculty research on this site, please name four professors with whom you would like to work if admitted to the program. You will be under no obligation to work with these professors if you are admitted since it is in the first year that new students choose a research mentor.

When you have submitted your application you should get an acknowledgment page but please send an e-mail to us in case anything goes wrong in the submission process. If that should occur we can then contact you.

This form may be used to make an application to our Master of Biomedical Science and our Doctor of Philosophy programs. It may also be used for the School of Medicine MD-PhD program. In this case you must apply separately to each program.

Once you have submitted your on-line application you should send us:

• Three letters of recommendation which should be in sealed envelopes

• A copy of your GRE scores

• Your undergraduate transcripts

• A personal statement telling us why you wish to pursue graduate studies in Biomedical Sciences at The University of South Carolina. This statement should include a description of:

• Your educational background

• Any research activities that you have undertaken

• Why you are applying to our program

• Why you think our program will help you attain your goals

 The personal statement may either be sent by mail or submitted on-line by going to this page
