
Fluorescence Imaging at the University
of South Carolina Medical School
State of the art imaging facilities at the Medical School
include a confocal MRC 1000 system along with a Voxel View Unix workstation for image
analysis and reconstruction of three dimensional fluorescence images

For quantitative fluorescence imaging the Medical School has a Meridian Instruments
ACAS 570 confocal fluorescence cytometer that also has cell sorting capacities

Confocal imaging
Ion measurements (Ca++, H+, K+ etc)
Fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (for molecular mobility measurements)
Kinetic studies of fluorescence redistribution
Quantitative fluorescence measurements (generation of histograms)
